
The IRS announces HSA Limits for 2018
The IRS announced the limits for 2018 for Health Plans that have a Health Savings Account. (IRS Rev. Proc. 2017-37)
2018 HSA Annual Contribution Limit
- Individual (self-only coverage) – $3,450 (For 2017 the limit is $3,400)
- Family Coverage – $6,900 (For 2017 the limit is $6,750)
2018 High Deductible Health Plan:
The minimum required deductibles are
- $1,350 for Individual (self-only coverage)
- $2,700 for Family Coverage
2018 Annual Out-of-Pocket Maximums
(Out-of-pocket expenses include deductibles, copayments, coinsurance and other amounts but do not include premiums)
- $6,650 for Individual (self-only coverage)
- $13,300 for Family Coverage
It should be noted that the Out-of-Pocket Maximums for Health Savings Accounts will also be used in calculating the maximum out-of-pocket limitation for those who enroll in an Insurance Marketplace or Health Exchange medical plan and are eligible for a federal subsidy.
